16 Days!

There are only 7 days of school left and 16 days until I leave. Miriam and I are SO excited!! On the 17th there will be a ceremony at our Church as a sort of Commissioning ceremony. Miriam was going to sing something so I thought that I would play something on my flute. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions...Thank you!!
I am almost finished with getting all of my supplies. I will be very busy from now on! Especially with finals and Regents Exams start this Thursday. Thank you for all of your support, financially and with your prayers. It is truly amazing that people can be so supportive even those you don't know! I have gotten many donations from people that I have never met but who have heard what I am doing. For that I would like to thank everyone who has helped so much! Thanks a bunch!!

I wrote this a long time ago but have not had a chance to post it….so here you go!

Hola amigos! Thank you to everyone who came to the Spaghetti Dinner and the Missions Conference. We raised a LOT of money. I have about $3,000 out of the $4,890 that I need. Luckily I have all of my other money and I have already bought my plane tickets to and from Florida.

I’m now in about the same place that I was when I wrote this. Miriam has created a new Facebook group where many of the people that are going to Cameroon with us are talking to each other. It was a brilliant idea Miriam!! Also we recently got our specific team fact sheets. It has our flight schedules. It looks like we will have to spend the night in an airport….I’m not sure how I feel about that yet.

Well I guess I’ll find out!! I’ll try and write at least once more if not twice before I leave this summer. Please pray for me and Miriam as we prepare for regents exams and Finals. Our last regents exam is the same day that we have to leave for our trip! Thank you for all of your support!!

Sick!!!

Hey guys...sorry I haven't written in a while! I've been VERY busy with Christmas and the holidays. This time of year is always crazy with all of the family gatherings and traveling. This is also the time of year that I happened to get sick…Ugh. I thought that I was getting better until it hit a second time with vengeance. I think I’m finally almost better after a month of torture.

               As for fundraising, I am doing well but I still have a long way to go! I appreciate all of your donations and fundraising help. If anyone has any other fundraising ideas please let me know!! Thank you for all of your support. Please keep Miriam and me in your prayers!!

Progress!

Hey everyone! So far I have raised over $1,600! Thank you so much to everyone who has donated, bought a bracelet/keychain or gave me cans to return to help me raise the funds for my trip. Monday the 14^th of November please go to McDonalds on Chestnut Street. If you do not know what I am talking about let me explain. Monday between the hours of 5 and 7 p.m. Miriam and I will get 20% of your meal cost. If you bring in the flier we have been handing out and give it to the cashier we will get some of the profit. We will divide the sum of money that we get in half to make it fair. This is a great opportunity to raise a large portion of our total sum of about $6,000. Please come!!!!! It would be very appreciated f you would help to support us. If you do not have a flier please contact Miriam or myself and we will get you one. Thank you again for all of your support!!!

My Journey Begins

            Hi everyone!! As many of you know I have received an opportunity to go to Cameroon, Africa the summer of 2012. This blog will be about my journey to get there and my life on the way. I will try to keep everyone posted on my progress and important things that happens on this trip.

            I am super excited and also very nervous and scared to be away from home for seven weeks but I know that God will help me through it. I would appreciate your prayers during this time in my life for my spiritual growth, fundraising and safety. Also please pray for my friend and me not to get motion sickness during our trip as we are both prone and will probably be puking the entire trip there and the entire trip back.
